I'm looking to find Staffordshire born actor Paddy Considine's Irish lineage. AFAIK, the surname Considine is very common in County Clare and that's where I'd expect (at a stretch) his father, or more likely his grandfather or great grandfather to have migrated from. I have tried google but have found nothing. Any suggestions or links to sites? The fact that he's an established and well known actor should help.

MacLysaght says Considine is a Clare name alright - a branch of the O'Briens and he references his own book "Irish Families" in the "Surnames of Ireland" so if you can find that in the library, you should get some more details. The other thing you can do is research the surname on the Irish and UK censuses.

Ah, if it isn't the troll from the Rubberbandits thread ;)

In fairness I think you might be right. Any idea where they moved from before moving into Weston? I have a feeling it may be Cratloe. I know an old character in his 70s called Paddy Considine living in Portdrine, he told me a few years ago he has a relative living in England who's an up and coming actor. I've been following Paddy's work ever since I first saw him in A Room for Romeo Brass. It would be a strange coincidence if they were related.
