Anton Savage is filling in for Ray D'Arcy at the moment on Today FM and is inviting people to text in with any motoring queries they may have.

Might be worth a listen for the laugh.

If nothing else it's good to hear a bit of motoring related banter on the radio as opposed to the usual mindless rubbish.

Someone with a 6 month old car with a problem and no mention of warranty!

I had a listen to this - I liked his rant about irrelevant beeps that cars make :D

Actually was listening to R1 yersterday and Derek Mooney was talking about cars with some expert - Lexus, Maybachs, VW Phaetons. Mooney seemed to know his onions, defo not just research notes. For some reason that REALLY surprised me.

Might sound strange, but I think Top Gear has legitimised cars as a mainstream pop-culture topic.

Savage is usually worth a listen. He does a bit of racing and runs a smokey old S-Class - kinda respect that.

    I was wondering that myself.

I'm pretty sure he said 6 weeks. And his question was whether he should do the job himself, not what the problem was. Guess he didn't get his question answered!

Also the squealing sound someone had with their car, no mention of wheel bearings?

I gave a short interview to Mooney at the Terenure show 2 years back - seemed to know his stuff!
