Helping 4 yr old with Swimming

So my son has had 2 sessions of swimming lessons and is getting on quite well. Instructors are very happy with his progress.
He's got used to putting his face and whole head under the water and will blow out making bubbles.
He can do a width of the learner pool using a float (stops about 3 time)
He's good on his back, tummy up and chin pointing to the ceiling.

The lessons are finished for the summer (he's starting back in Sept)

I bring him each weekend and we've started going on a Wed night also.

I want to help bring him on, but I don't want to introduce any bad habits I might give him.

Anyone got any ideas, pointers, sites that might help?
    Thanks
    Rory

Best advise I can give you is , try and make the time you have with him in pool fun, don't get mad serious about his stroke or do this do that.....Get a couple of those toys you can throw in water and get him to swim for them. I'm sure the pool where your bringing him might have them also and you can get a loan of them.

Try and do his float stuff first and then do the fun stuff as a reward or something like that...

As Mad m already said with 4 years old most important thing is to work on fundamental skills through games etc. Until his 5 your goal should be flotation on front and back confidence and basic movement, don't expect him to start swimming yet, just have fun with your son in the pool and that will be all that has to be done at this stage.
