Others getting paid much more for same job :(

I recently started as a customer rep/sales in a company for a temp role until October. The wage is the worst I've ever had and I'm only getting by with handouts from my parents and boyfriend.

I wouldn't complain if everyone was in the same boat, but I found out that three other people doing the exact same job are getting paid an extra 60 quid a week, and then get commission on top of this. The reason being they are officially "sales" and I am officially "customer care" but in reality the work is exactly the same. One of them was hired only a week before me and also is in a temp role.

I've already asked the boss am I entitled to any commission and he said he'd get back to me. After a week I brought it up again but he completely ignored me.

What would you do in this situation? Would you try bring it up again? :(

Lots of places pay more to staff with more experience or previous performance. If one of them was only hired a week before then that sucks but maybe they had a great CV coming into the job.

Does it annoy you enough that you'd be willing to quit over it?

You probably won't have much of a bargaining position with your boss unless he wants you to stay and you're willing to leave over it.

I'd ask him again but start looking for something else if you're really unhappy.

No harm in asking again ,I would write the script of what you are going to say,and how you will answer the most obvious rebuttals.

That said most negotiation on salary happens before you join and a couple of weeks in you will find you have very little leverage to change this postion.
I would concentrate your arguments on what your worth not what others are worth.
