Independent Mature Candidate querie

    Hi,

If anyone could help me out with this, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I'm going into the second year of my degree course in September. Initially, as I was living at home the year before I started the course, I had to apply as a dependent mature student.
As I've been living out of home for the past year, is it possible to apply as an independent mature candidate? I'm absolutely stone broke all of the tim and finding it very difficult to manage. If I've to reapply as a dependent mature student again this year, I fear I might not get the full grant. If anyone has any insight into this, please let me know.
    Thanks:)

as i understand the scheme you hold the status you were awarded in the first year for the duration of the course. in any event i believe the financial difference between being a dependent and independent no longer exists except for those travelling in excess of the 50km to college
