    I'm heading to hike carrontuhill sometime next month can anyone recommend a good hostel or something cheap close by, would be nice if the town/village had a pub also, thanks in advance

    I would think Killarney is the place for you. There is closer accommodation, but Killarney is close enough with a lot of hostels and pubs.

    If you have a car, Killarney.

    If you plan on walking to Reeks, you'll have to stay near there. Kate Kearneys in the Gap of Dunloe is the pub and there are guesthouses in the Gap.
