You can get free templates online which are just as good as any cv service.

I've seen a CV done professionally and it blew me away - the person got a job from it - I since have copied a good bit of the CV and it hasnt let me down either -

I'm not sure how much they cost but i'd get one done - a good looking CV makes a world of difference!

If you do get it done, post it on here and i'll take a look at it for you and give you my opinion.

I'll also use it as a template for my own :)

I think you'd need to make sure you can find someone who is pretty familiar with your industry, so they know what the important points are to get across. It could be a great investment though.

You'd think it should be easy to write it yourself with all the resources online, but I've seen some CVs from people I know to be very good at their jobs (and strangely, usually very good at communicating), but they've let themselves down badly on the CV.

For the layout - MS Word has some excellent templates available, but obviously that won't help you with the actual content.
