Aer Lingus - Spain API

Mrs Zag and the minis are flying home from Bilbao in the middle of July on EI. We can't print boarding cards this far in advance and we are unlikely to be in a position to easily print boarding cards in the days leading up to the departure, but I *think* this isn't a problem as we should just be able to rock up to the airport on the day and check in then.

However . . . what's the story with the API ? We also can't enter the API information at the moment and we also aren't likely to be able to enter it in while we are away.

Will they be able to provide the details tomorrow when they are at the airport getting their outbound flight (not to Spain) ?

And finally, what's the fallback if none of the above apply ? Is there a number we can call ? I haven't heard Joe Duffy rattling on about people being left behind in Spain so I'm guessing they are a little flexible on this API mularkey.

P.S. Yes, we *could* probably track somewhere down but I would prefer to spend my holiday time on holidays in the wilderness rather than trying to find an internet cafe somewhere in some town I don't want to be in.

API info can be added via the manage my booking section on aerlingus.com anytime before flying. You can do it at check-in from what I recall also, but obviously it makes the process longer.

Unfortunately it looks like API can't be entered any time before flying. When I went in to enter it last night, it told me that it can't be entered this far in advance of the flight. It's weird as two and a half weeks is not really far ahead. I'll try again and see what happens.

    Thanks,

API is required for entry to Spain, NOT for exiting the country.

Yep, I reckon it should be just for travel to Spain (and not from) alright. The EI website has this option though - "Provide Advance Passenger Information for travel to and/or from Spain"

I reckon, given the way that all the factors point, you don't need it to exit Spain alright.

    Thanks,

Regardless of what you reckon, its fact...API only required for entry to Spain :)
