    Hi,

Anyone got any advice or comments on this car or garage. Went to look at another car there today but i came across this one when i arrived. Said they had just gor it traded in but tax was out a little while. The garage seemed decent enough.

    Thanks as always

They're hardly gonna say: "we've had it a good few months already - hard to shift the damn' thing", are they? :p

Pretty sure they were serious, I didn't see it on their website earlier and told them that. I was told he had just put it online. When I got home there it was. Also not in a list of cars in a handout they gave me with their business card.

I wouldn't really care much about what they said about how long they had the car or not, tbh. Did it have service history? You getting a decent warranty?

3month or 3000mile warranty parts or labour, whichever would be cheaper for me. I think that is pretty standard. Said it has full service. Didn't actually take a look at the book on this visit. Seems a good price don't you think. I'll get a mechanic to take a look at it first.

It's almost always 3 months/3000 miles whichever comes first.

Don't forget to call the garages who stamped the book to make sure they actually did the work as prescribed. You can't make a call on price until you know exactly what you're looking at.

Good point in checking the garages. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for your help

The 1.9 litre engine in the 318i of that year wasn't great from a performance or fuel economy perspective. It only has something like 125bhp, the 2.0 litre valvetronic that replaced it in mid 2001 performs much better and is more fuel efficent.

Cool, thanks. Is it still a decent car? Thought it looked good at that price.

Somebody else who knows more then me may be able to answer this, but does the fogged up passenger headlight mean anything significant?

Smart looking car and reasonably priced. I would be holding out for one with a longer NCT and higher spec.

it means the seal between the lens and the reflector or wasnt fully sealed between the black plastic and the glass.

may be mistaken but didnt think those front fog lights were out in 2000 taught they were retangular ones back them and the circular ones came out in 2002 !

Thanks for that. Is it easy to fix? Don't know anything about when the lights were changed.

Is there a dent under the passenger side brake lights or is it just a reflection?

There is a small dent on the back. In fairness it was pointed out to me straight away.

Its a coupe - so the round fogs were on that model at release. The design changed with the facelift in 02.

Its the saloon which had rectangular fogs.

I bought my current car off webb motors, found them very good to deal with.
Price was good, only warranty issue was the battery which they sent me a cheque for, as I didnt have time to drive back to dublin for to get one fitted.
Guy I dealt with was a kiwi afair, nice chap.
Car showed up with finance outstanding, guy said it would be sorted when I picked up the car and it was.

Another guy on here bought his focus rs from them.

    Hope that helps.

It would if only the thread wasn't 2 years old.
