Not my area but repeat papers are often very similar to the original paper. They do want you to pass after all!

If you check out previous years' exams online, you might see the repeat papers are also there. Comparing the repeat paper with its respective winter/summer paper will give you a better idea of this is indeed the case (remembering to pay careful notice to the lecturer's name on the front of the paper).

    Best of luck! :)

    Get grinds?

    Seems like the obvious solution.

Maybe getting out your notes and studying them day in day out until the exam. Sometimes the best solution isn't always the one you want to hear or the easiest to do.

I've a question about repeats too so i'll just lump it in here.
Does anyone know what the story is with continuous assessment? If you failed your assignments/mid term do they still tend to be counted towards repeats?

It depends on who's writing the paper. Some lecturers will write really easy papers that will be fairly similar the 1st sitting paper. Some other lecturers use the autumn paper as an opportunity to ask the questions that weren't asked in the first sitting and the odd time you'll get a rather nasty paper that's written to catch you out, possibly to get ridd of the reputation that they'll go easy on you for the autumn repeats. But the bottom line is; every lecturer has a pattern, so as ethernet said; look over the past papers.

From my experience, it depends on the dept. and sometimes even the lecturer. Some do, some don't. I think it's kept intentionally vague so that if your work over the year can pull you over the line to a passing grade then they'll use it and if not, they won't. If in doubt, email your lecturer.

    Good luck.
