Hi, up to a few months ago I was able to recieve these channels but not now alas, located in the sunny south east.

I rang up the guys who I bought the LCD from and he still assured me that it should, but then suggested that I needed a new aerial, currently using aerial for tv3 & TG4 analogue in another room, and possibly my old was now unable to recieve these channels now, mhmmm not sure about that, anyhow he gave me a number of a local aerial instillation company who suggested that was the issue and an upgrade would cost me all in €99.

Surely im missing something here by the way I have googled and checked boards and was unable to solve my issue, any input would be great recieved and many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Its a Samsung 37" B550 and it was around March or so the last time I recieved the channels.

I am unable to recieve both the TV or radio channels.

Aerial is attic located but there is strong signal coming through for the analogue stations with a nesr perfect picture.

Thanks for replying and I hope this helps.

Have you tried deleting the channels and re-scanning or a factory reset ?

Is there only 1 aerial, can you list the analogue channel nos. (21-68 for UHF) or do you know which transmitter you receive from?

On the samsung there is an signal quality bar menu (one of the options under system information). That should tell you what signal quality yuou are receiving on DTT(Saorview).

If you are in Wexford you should be getting Ch 45 from Mt Leinster or 55 from Forth Mountain or Ch 52 from Gorey.

There is a chance that your aerial may have to changed if its a group A aerial that you were always using - that would explain the prefect analogue for those 2 channels. There is a possibility that you need a Group B, but its borderline stuff.

    Hi again.

I finally found out what the issue was, a faulty coaxil cable from the aerial as when I tried it with some new cable, hey presto, when I rescanned the channels were back and a lot more in fact and RTE2 in glorious HD :)

I have got other advice not on boards forums from a new aerial needed and your tv is not compatable and you need a new box, so it just proves the point with some help from my fellow boards members and a little investigaion on my part it can save you from forking out for none essential equipment that you dont need in the first place to achieve your result, but to note this is only my experience in this matter.

Also my LCD a Samsung B550 is not an approved Saorview IDTV.

    Again folks many thanks :D
