    Hey.

The trailer lights plug is broken off my Ford 6610 so as I need the trailer on the road this summer I needed to get this fixed. So I got the new plug and fitted it then i started puttin the wires bacK just ramdomly time after time and I cant get it right. I've been at it for days. You will get the brakes lights working the you will try the the indatators and the brake lights go. Ughhhh.

Can anyone tell me which way they go or tell me where I can get a manual for cheap as mine is lost.

    Thanks.

I am having a problem a JD3650 where some else did a botch job

If you google the 7 pin socket you should find the wiring diagram. Use a meter or tester earthed to the tractor to find which wire on the socket harness is which and then line it up with the diagram.

Was there not a leaflet that came with the plug with the wiring arrangement on it?

No the trailer plug is like that all right but the wires on the tractor are:
    1. Black,
    2. Red,
    3. Red & Black,
    4. Green & white,
    5. Green & Red,
    6. Green & Orange,
    7. Green & Purple.
Like where the hell did they get them wires???

Link to standard british wiring colours - http://www.dimebank.com/LucasColours.html

The plain red wire doesn't make sense, neither does the green/orange.

    Black is earth
    Red/Black is LH tail light
    Green/White is RH Indicator
    Green/red is LH Indicator
    Green/Purple is stop lamp

    Fog lamp should be Red/Yellow
RH tail lamp should be Red/White

You should be able to easily tell which wire is which with a test meter or lamp to see what goes live with what switch.

Yep, that seems to be the best option and match that to the colours on the trailer.

Let us know how you get on, vehicle electrics can be a nightmare if previously messed with!

I spent days trying to figure out a military trailer lighting board problem a couple of years ago to find it had been wired wrong from new
