I was away travelling and since I've returned to Ireland 10 months ago I've been on social welfare and looking for work.I've been staying with a friend since I got back and haven't been claiming rent allowance but he has decided he wants to rent his place out so I have to move out. I was just wondering am I entitled to rent allowance now or do I need to pay rent for 6 months in a new place? Thanks.

Rent six months, or get on the housing list which can take a while. Best to see the CWO in your area as soon as possible to get things started.
