Etape Ras Mumhan - big bowl of unctuous beef stew with Plenty of beef spuds and veg. Lashings of cans of coca cola.
Kare Tour de Ffoothills. Chicken curry, chips and coleslaw.
Chain Gang Conor Pass Challenge - you could nearly eat you own weight in cream cakes.
Ring of Kerry - bars of chocolate on top of Coomakiste.

    Maracycle had Jaffa Cakes!!!
Viking Ride had Angels with cake, and obligatory Blaas!

    Wicklow 200 had
Queue in freezing rain for 20 minutes
Grumpy old bas*ard swiped registration bar code
Queue for horrible factory made sandwich.
    A steal for €42.

Did I mention the sandwich - the privilege of 2 was afforded to you.
    Best sportif (n)ever.

What is the Knocklong sportif with the Pig on Spit?
It should have been publicised here.

    exactly

W200: skip sandwiches, scoff down on cola bottles and straight to the pub afterwards to get hammered.

    That's how it's done :pac:

Mt Leinster Challenge has an amazing spread of food...way too much to list here :-)

The Tour of South Meath has a lovely feed (in my local pub as it happens) there in Clonard - choice of curry or stew if I remember right. that was a welcome sight/smell after a 110km spin I can tell ye :-)
(plus a foodstop en-route as well of course)

Mick Byrne in Dalkey also had a super food stop in Laragh...was tough to leave that one actually :)

The Croi Lap of the Lough has the Cong Feedstop. Tarts and Maderia Cake are special

Cornamona 50 also has the BBQ

Re the Flapjacks found Flahavans Flapjacks in local Super value today :D

Ml they take the left over cheese cake to Doolin so you missed that as well

Wicklow 200 is most notable for the mountain of Rice Krispie Squares in my opinion.

West Cork 200 had a burger van at the halfway point, which struck me as a bit unusual. For anyone who didn't want to eat a heavy burger they also had big slices of fruit cake. Clearly they know how to eat down there!

They'd a fish burger option too, which was nice but took far far too long!

The Glenilen Yogurt near the end was very good as well. :D

Rice Pudding Cones at Killiskey on the Mick Byrne. Followed by handmade sandwiches in Laragh.

    Unbeatable IMHO.

Aaaagghhh - I should have gone to that. My grandmother was from Kilmallock and the old man grew up there. Some beautiful cycling around there.

Its in my diary for next year. They're going to need more than one pig.

Mid Summer Century had a mobile coffee shop in Dublin city centre and full breakfast at the end in Dundalk...

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 25,523 Mod ✭✭✭✭CramCycle

Dying Light 200 had Ambrosia, tea, coffee, sandwiches and nutri grain bars at the first stop, Mars/Snickers, tea/coffee, sandwiches and more snack bars at the second and then Hot Ports at the finish (I had two) and then off to the pub in Donnybrook that evening.

Any Audax 200 (Mick Byrne, Ardattin, Slieve Mann) event organised by Paul O'Donoughue has more food than anyone can ever eat, plus fresh scones and cake from his OH at the finish line, juice, ambrosia, coffee, sandwiches (with fancy cheese and ham, freshly made) and bars at every stop.

He only gives us those so he can show of his collection of beautiful bikes, I dislike visiting his apartment in that it makes me feel a tremendous of jealousy :(

Wicklow Peaks had cakes from Avoca, bread from Soul and a lovely chicken curry at the end. Hard to top that.

Unless I am mistaken the €42 does not even go to charity.

    Naas CC runs three sportifs;
    TDF in April
    Wicklow Peaks (last Sunday)
Martin Earley TOK in August (fastest sportif in country- full Garda escort)
All proceeds to charity and GOOD FOOD provided
