Beginner drum kit

My 10 yr old daughter is interested in taking up the drums and has asked for a kit - Looking for advice on what to get.

Last year it was guitar and we bought her 3/4 size and lessons but she decided she had had enough after about 6 weeks. So I'm cautious about rushing into anything too costly. Having said that, she has had a go at the drums in a music class that she does and the teacher said she has a natural aptitude.

I've seen 'kids' drum kits for sale for 100 or 130 or so - are these any use at all? or what is the alternative without breaking the bank!

    Thanks for advice,

For a beginner you don't need to be going mad, but a lot of 'kids' sets are not much better than the boxes they come in.
I'd advise getting a second hand set, with cymbals - adverts.ie, buyandsell and donedeal usually have some on or have a look on drummingireland.com and see whats going.
Don't worry about brands, as at this price point they are all pretty much the same
