    Any idea how much to spend on a ring for my wife after the birth of our firstborn child?

    It's usually an eternity ring that would suit the other rings that she has.

    No idea how much you should spend, really depends on what you can afford I suppose.

    Yeah, agree. I did the same when my first was born. Individual thing really. Totally depends on the lady and her tastes and what you can afford of course.

    In todays economy whatever you can afford, you can always upgrade or repurchase another ring at a later stage.

    Doesn't matter.
    If you are getting an eternity ring, they are usually worn on the same finger as the wedding/engagement ring.
    So something thin that will match/fit with the existing rings.

    Congrats on the baby. :)

    MY OH got me an eternity ring when I had my DD. They can start at about €200 and go up and up. Some people get eternity rings as wedding bands now so they can go up to anything around €1500

    I got one for Mrs Dades after she had our second.

    I had the same guy who made her wedding ring make one up so that it matched the design. Spent about a €1,000 - though it would have cost a lot more to buy it from a jewellers.
