    Hey guys,

I've got 6 days to spare between leaving Beijiing and returning to Ireland at Christmas...but I can't figure out where to go. Have looked into Moscow & St Petersburg, Laos, Nepal, Jordan, Vietnam....some of which may not be worth visiting for such a short space of time. Any suggestions? Cheers

hanoi - would be good for 6days but thats the max id spend there as after that youd want to move on, after that you could just hit somewhere in the EU - like italy! OR krakow in poland is great crack for a party place! cheap flights from ireland to there as well so get some ppls out to meet you there!

6 days isn't a lot, as you well know, so choose carefully! I suppose it depends on what you like.
if you fancy some beach time, then maybe Phi Phi or Samui or Pha ngan, if you like partying, or Koh Chang if you want something chilled out. I heard the perinthians (Malaysia) are amazing but haven't been myself. Ha Long bay is quite nice too, and you can do boat trips.
Pai in northern Thailand is beautiful hippie kinda spot, again nice for chilling out.
Chiang Mai maybe or Sapa if you fancy some trekking.
Perhaps if you fancied visiting Angkor Wat, you could spend your time in Siem Reap.. although 6 days for most people would be too long.
I spent a week in Luang Prabang, not really doing much, just relaxing, tho there is a few things to see there and in surrounding areas, really like Laos in general actually.

So yeah, depending on what you're in the mood of, there's lots of lovely places!!

Have you seen much of China while there? Might be easiest to just wander around the country.

You could do a couple of days in Hong Kong and Macau?

Moscow & St Petersburg would likely be freezing, do you have winter clothing with you?

What's your budget? What do you like doing?

Nepal is a seriously nice country and there is a lot to see around the Kathmandu valley, which is where your flight would arrive. It's not that cold in winter either, Kathmandu is low enough.

Not the easiest/cheapest place to get from China but there are direct flights from Hong Kong and a few cities in the east/south east such as Chengdu and Kunming. When you get here it is very cheap.

If you had the time though I would be tempted to just get the train back, at least as far as Moscow, flying home from there.
