I'm going to be sticking new rear brake discs onto a car but it's going to be parked up for a few weeks. I don't want the new discs to be destroyed with corrosion and am wondering if it would be alright to spray the discs with etch primer while it's left parked up - the etch won't cause any damage to the surface of the disc?

Not really, what will happen though is when you put the discs on the car and the discs heat up, the paint which isn't scraped away by the pads will discolour and become textured. You'd be as well off putting them into a bag, putting in a lot of dry rice and sealing the bag to prevent corrosion.

Etch primer is called 'etch' because it etches into anything its sprayed on so thats a bad idea.

you are aware the minute you drive and press the brakes the friction will take the corrosion off the surface?

The car is only going to be moved a couple of feet.

A few weeks will not destroy brake discs. They will clean up immediately once driven.

There are cars sitting on forecourts all over the country for months on end and they clean up immediately.
