A relative has an 08 2 litre diesel Mitsubishi Grandis with 80,00 km on it. Recently the engine management light came on. The light remained on so he's now talking about a problem with the ECU. Any advice would be welcome.

Get it out of there or else it is going to cost a fortune to fix. If he keeps going, he will find the problem eventually but will just keep throwing parts at it. Take it to a good independant or even the main dealer.
