Shoulder/Back Wax

Have many people done it? Is it sore?

I'm fairly hairy over my right shoulder and down to my middle back. Grand everywhere else on my body. Just the usual hair here and there but not thick so it doesn't bother me. However don't like it on my shoulder as it grows very thick.

I've shaven it before but grows back within a month I'd say. Is waxing a better option I wonder

Waxing it will be sore, more uncomfortable but im a woman and my pain threshold is a little higher :D

Maybe if it really bothering you you could look at laser, there are some really really good deals out at the moment.

Or threading is also good, less pain and longer lasting :)

Just get a bottle of that Nair hair removal cream stuff. Wipe it on before a shower, wait ten minutes, hop in the shower and wash it off. No more hair.

Can you buy that in Ireland? I googled it and saw it onsale in the US. Have you used this yourself?

Im open to correction but i think it may be called Veet here
I'd imagine its difficult to put on your own back
My other half had a bad reaction to it so test a small area first:)

You can get it in boots anyway, not sure of elsewhere. I'm not sure if there's a mens version of it though I don't see how it'd make any difference. I've used it, works well, not had any problems though I'd agree with doing a patch test first to be safe.

Dragging if off topic i know... but that's proven as untrue and an old wives tale! :p

pain is felt differently, so hard to compare... allegedly!

    Man up!

Yeah it hurts like hell but if you're going for that smooth look it's worth it for sure ;)

Ok so shaving it is really not a good idea as you just blunt the hairs causing it to grow back thicker, hair removal cream is rubbish and to strong for sensitive skin (never find it works and i'm a girl), waxing can be brilliant. though painful, however there's a risk your skin will redden straight after and you need to look after it. however waxing will have a longer effect and the more often you do the less you will need to do it as it damages the hair follicles.

If it's something you are truly unhappy with I would suggest laser. (not threading - it's too large an area- threading is not permanent anyway). laser is permanent. and will consist of 6 sessions, each a month apart. this does not hurt, you will only feel a slight pinching but it is expensive. look up salon prices for deals etc or keep an eye on boards or city deals for offers coming up.... hope I was of some help.

I'd leave the hair man, I'm a bit of a hairy bastard myself, don't see why I should shave

There is a Veet for Men. You can get it in Tesco.

Reckon the only difference is that it is in a "manly" blue tube!

Tbh I'd rather have it look like I was buying it for the gf!

As an occasional back-and-shoulder Veeter (when on a beach holiday for example), I find the feeling of having NO hair really freaky. Shirts cling to you in a funny way, and I frequently find myself regretting the hair removal.

Luckily I'm married so I can let myself go.

Yeah found the same myself weird at first but got used to it, used "Hair no more" or something like that I ordered online - it smelled terrible but results were good, must try the veet for men, anyone on here use it?

Back in the dating game now so have to get rid of mine!!!!!

Just do waxing, not that painful, get whole upper body done, worst is chest, everywhere else is fine

Just a girls point of view on this but you having hair on your back or shoulders isnt neccessarily a turn off. If it's something you wanna do cos you feel better with out it, go for it. but dont do it thinking it'll impress a girl any more than you would have with the hair.
