go to the sportsworld upstairs at heatons in Ballincollig shopping center. you will get a decent set of dunlop clubs and bag for about 200.

if your starting off you dont want to splash loads on clubs to leave them in the shed.

there's a nevada bobs in ballincollig behind the cinema too if your looknig for something more expensive or american golf across from the CUH in wilton

if your a left handed my friend just traded up from his starter set so the starter set will just be sitting in the garage. I'm sure he'd be happy to sell the set for 50euro or smthg.

You won't get big name brands here but there are grand to get you started and get into the game before you commit to spending too much.

Check out www.adverts.ie they normally have deals coming and going in the cork area, how often will you be playing? How much do you want to spend?

Did you look at the pink pages?

Looking to play once a week at the moment, midweek after work as long as the long evenings and weather allow.

Looking to spend about €200 max at the moment as I want to see if I can make an improvement before shelling out for a good set.

    Pink pages???

In Tuesdays Echo, there is a free ads(pink pages) section in the middle which always has a golf section with people looking to get rid of sets they are not using.

I bought a good set off amazon for my brother recently.

Oh right. What set did you buy if you don't mind me asking?

    Any thoughts on this set?:

The above is the set I bought for my brother but it was dearer at the time and a really good set, the one you are looking at, I was going to buy those at the time but decided on going with a well know brand name.

If I were you I would go into American Golf in Wilton and tell them what you are looking for and how much you want to pay.

    Where you playing out of?

Don't have a handicap yet. I've just played three rounds in Fernhill in Carrigaline using a friend's set.

Fernhill is a good beginners course and you'll get a real sense of whether you like the game or not but be warned, it is very addictive.

Tell me about it! Even one good shot out of ten seems to make it all worthwhile! :D

    Cash Converters on MacCurtain Street.

Picked up a full set of second hand Big Bertha's there not so long ago for 99 euro

Was in there last weekend and they have second hand callaway x-14 I believe 4 iron to PW for under 50 euro. Also have some second hand drivers (Ping, Cobra).
