Replacing old LNB on Sky Dish?

I take it is a sky dish you have, if so the adapter should fit inside the arm (adapter not fitted to LNB in picture). It may be the case that part of the old LNB adapter is still inside the arm preventing the new one from being fitted.

if you upgrade you will get a free sky+hd box as well as a dish with a quad lnb on it - i know you already bought a box/lnb but you could always flog them on ebay. All you'd need to do then is connect your cable and away you go.

Neither adapter will fit, not the "clasp on" version or the "slip in" version. Is it possible to replace the Arm to Mk3 / Mk4?

Are you sure the dish arm is clear on the inner part of the box section as sometimes the old sleeve gets stuck when you remove the old LNB?

If part of the old adaptor is stuck, simply push it in further with a screwdriver or something similar, the new adaptor should fit in then.

There is usually a plastic screw holding it in place, pop that out first.Remember to put in the new plastic screw when you have the quad fitted to keep it in place.

Yep, completely clear. The Dish is from 2000/2001 i suspect it may need a new arm? My neighbour has a dish up, just looked at his one and the arm on the dish is thicker.

I've put one of those lnb's on an old dish by not using the adapter and simply putting it over the arm and securing it in place with a small bolt and nut.It worked perfectly. The plastic screw can be a bit flimsy.

If that doesn't work it's easy to replace the arm to one that's suitable, there's just a single bolt holding it in place.(try not to knock the dish out of alignment)

Sounds as if you have the original Mk1 dish. See http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/quad_sky_lnb.htm

Worked a treat!!! Tried this today but it looked flimsy and never even thought of the long bolt and nut. Thanks! :D

I simply used the MK4 adapter and this sat nicely on the old narrow arm. Then I got a 30mm long (6mm thick) roofing bolt and nut and secured it with this. Can't get a picture as the friend That I borrowed the ladder from has taken it away.
