Applied again for my third test after failing today :(:(

When I reapplied I clicked notify by post instead of email and I clicked out of the window before noting down my reference number, silly me! Anyway I want to email the RSA requesting a cancellation as I need a driving licence to apply for jobs and I'm going to America in a few weeks. Is there any way of getting my reference number or do I have to wait for the letter to come through with my reference number.

Or can I just email them with my driver number?

    Hi

Yeah if you ring them and give them your details name, DOB, driver number etc, they should be able to look up your booking.

While on the phone, ask are there any cancellations they can give you. I know a few people who have done something similar and got their test within a month.

I applied online and opted to take a cancellation. Applied Feb 7th and got test on 24th Feb, very fast. Even quicker than the SGS days now:) The RSA have really got their act together when it comes to waiting lists!

yeah I gave them a ring there, they said I need to leave 3 weeks in between tests but I'm going to America on 18th July :( She said to ring back and I might get something before I go but there's no guarantee. Just have to cross my fingers for something!

Not quite sure why they have that rule, but I had heard that before. Yeah sure keep on their backs and hopefully you'll get something.

    All the best!

I hear ya. It does go in your favour to have a full licence. Especialy jobs where you may have a company car etc.

I see....Well if you need and want it that bad, you will get it. I was due a promotion which I couldn't get till i had my full licence.

Passed with 1 grade 1 and 1 grade 2, it's amazing what one can do when a compulsion/deadline is put in place.

    You wil get there:)

I was going to make a topic but then I saw this thread already!

Does anyone know the procedure for applying for a full licence? I've found info here(http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/travel_and_recreation/motoring_1/driving_tests/driving_test.html ). I already have my provosional. I'm asking because I remember around the New Year the RSA were talking about some sort of logbook before applying for a full licence? I've had my provisional since November 2010.

I'm well-able to drive around the house/on fields but haven't gotten out onto the road yet. How much practice do you think I'll need on the road before applying?

Bitta searching and I found this http://www.rsa.ie/en/RSA/Learner-Drivers/Driver-Training/Car-Training-EDT/ so I shouldn't need the EDT. If I failed the test first time, would I need to do it then?

Good luck with the test OP!!

You don't. A pupil of mine did something silly on test and was given a Grade 3 and failed. She resat her test 13 days later and passed.

Call them again and ask for a cancellation if they are available. Be polite and courteous ;)

Thanks. I know the feeling - I did something stupid and got a grade three on the last right turn I did, only had 7 grade two up until that point. I'm thinking if I explain that I am going away and I need my licence to apply for jobs (the truth), they might be able to do something for me!

The lady told me to ring back around the 11/12th. Do you think I should chance giving them a ring before that?
