    Howdee,

I'm on the look out for an inexpensive semi hollow electric. I was thinking about an Aria/Tanglewood/Vintage. The Vintages are a bit more expensive than the Arias so maybe in that ballpark I should look at a Hagstrom Viking.

I have played the Arias and the Vintage, both felt and sounded reasonable to me.

I haven't mentioned Epiphone Sheratons yet for a reason just to see what the options are for the price range... (about 400e)

I had a Tanglewood jazzer a few years back: beautiful looking and sounding guitar, a bit like the Gibson Byrdland. Unfortunately, it's intonation was too unstable, and I moved it on...

I know, but figured any input on the Tanglewoods might be valuable.

Plus, you can still rock it up on a fully hollow!:

Can't say I have experience with Aria semi-hollow guitars, but I have an Aria electric guitar and an Aria bass. Totally solid brand, I'd expect everything you'd get from them would be solid as far as build and electronics go.

yeah, any Aria's I played were always pretty decent.... think I might go play one tomorrow and make up my mind!

I got an Epiphone Sheraton II a few years back but had to change the stock pickups as they were awful - great guitar if your willing to spend a few more quid on setup and new pups.

I put Gibson 57 Classic's in mine and that baby sings like a bird now...

The thought had crossed my mind to get a lower end one, and upgrade it as I go...
