It is a good deal if your looking for a good android for the price, but the LG optimus 7 from amazon.de for €190 is better value.

If you're looking for an android- Vodafone's deal here on bargain alerts cannot be beaten- an Android phone for 20 quid.......

The Acer is a nice phone- but its at least 2 generations old- it may be 2.2, but its certainly not going to be updated to 2.3 given its processor.......

Slow processor means no more updating on that phone, and very poor screen resolution on it too. The LG deal is much much better

The 20 quid vodafone deal is the one to go for- for an entry level android.......
Wonder how long before WP7 has an entry level model, full stop........

The android from vodafone, it supposed to be so slow, and it takes aves to open a smiple app, you contacts, or you messages.

There won't ever be an entry level windows phone 7 as there are strict quality requirements set by Microsoft, as well as minimum processor speeds, minimum ammounts of ram, minimum ammount of storage and minimum speed of storage. The current windows phone 7's like the samsumg omnia 7 barely meet the minimum. Some of the requirements are here.

However if you root the Huaweii and install a custom ROM, its supposed to be remarkably zippy- even with its 528Mhz processor (which is a broadly similar processor to the one in the Acer Smartphone that the OP was referring to). The point I was making is that there is a similarly specced alternate available for only 20 quid- obviously the WP7 is in a different league- however you're paying for it.......

Yeah compared to the acer phone the Voafone one isn't too far behind.

Just in case your not aware but the ZTE blade is a very popular entry level andriod phone... It's very popular so easy to get support on forums, customs roms etc. Only drag is you have to go up north to get one... THey work out about £120 by the time u get the compulsary credt, but I'm very happy with mine as are a lot of others. It has a slightly slower processor than the one above but most people run it overclocked to about 700mhz (app does all this for you)
