Otter Under My Feet.

    I thought I would just share this sideways video (sorry) of an otter which was busy looking for food on this estuary in the west of Ireland. I often encounter otters whilst fishing on the rivers in quiet parts of the county Mayo. Although the phone camera catches the otter going right under my boots and fishing rod as i sat on the bank, I didnt realize that the phone was the wrong way appologies.

    Nice to get that close to a wild otter. Has anyone heard about one on the Liffey that has taken to raiding anglers bait bags, right under their noses?

    I don't know about in the Liffey but I can vouch for at least one otter on Lough Derg that fancies itself as a ninja bait thief. :D

    That one on the liffey is a brave sod, Hangs around sometimes waiting for a fish to be caught and the bugger is off with it. He has took a couple of small fish from my hand as well, scared the hell out of me when he popped up beside me. I have not seen him or any others this season.
