    Hi All
Just wondering if anyone has an Excel spreadsheet template for storage control. I have a warehouse in Cork and currently have 4 customers storing pallets with me – ranging from 300 pallets to a few boxes
Really what I need is to have something that can record goods inwards/outwards and pallet totals weekly.
I don’t mind paying for the right item....

Stock control programs can be very expensive and I would not recemmend an Excel sheet. Maybe try googling for an open soucre options?

Do you also requrie the ability to invocie the customers form Goods In/out

We have used these guy's for the last number of years for our 3 retail outlets. www.aidanoconnell.ie they can produce a system tailored to your needs.
Highly recommended and easy to deal with.

    Hi Guys
Thanks for the replies. I am really caught here because the revenue on the pallets would not justify any sizeable spend, Basically I need a system that can cover the following

    • Goods Inwards
    • Goods Outwards
    • Pallets in storage
    • Item batch/reference number
    • Location within warehouse
    • Customer report (this can be a print off from the system)

There are about 4 companies that we store for. One is quiet big with an average of 200 pallets a week, about 150 of these pallets can be in long term (over a month) but the movement in and out can range from 8 pallets to 40 pallets. Really what we need is a system to trap this information, and assign a cost to it i.e. we charge €1 per pallets to offload and €1 per pallet out, the average charge for storage is about 1.50 per pallet per week. I am trying to figure a way to trap all this and still be capable of assigning a pro rata cost – some of the pallets could be in storage for 3 days so the charge would be .90 cents per pallet. Taking a hundred pallets per week this could be a serious difference and the customer would object to been over charged.

I do not have big money on this, the 4 customers combined storage just pays for the space. I have viewed a few WMS systems on the internet ranging from $50 to 10k – some are very lacking and others would suit Tesco.

The biggest issue I have is that my staff are not very IT orientated, I could set up a excel spreadsheet but I reckon that they will muck it up.
    Regards
    Ian
