    However if you used you credit card then there probably will be a charge especially if it is a cash advance from your credit limit, however if you had preloaded money into your credit card then the cost would be less and this is especially the case when using it outside the Eurozone.

    No charge for using my AIB Laser card in Spain!

    Yes. Banks cannot charge you anything more to take out cash/pay with cards in another Eurozone country than they would at home.

    Is it likely that you would be charged on the double (home & away) for such transactions?

    No charge on my AIB laser/Maestro card. I have used mine to withdraw money all over the eurozone with zero charges. Also use it in the POS machines in shops with no charge either. Its all very simple and free!
