What to wear in humid weather?

    Hi all,

Looking for some tips. It's really humid out, as you all know, and I'm looking for some tips on what clothes are available to wear. I'm Male, BTW.

Now, I do have sandles (Merrell) & shorts (Esprit) which do the trick perfectly to keep cool, but they're far too casual for wearing to work, etc. There is no dress code in work, but I feel too casual in them. T-shirts are fine, so I'm sorted for my top half - it's my legs & feet that I'm stumped on.

Anyway - what are the alternatives? Jeans are far too clammy, and socks & runners are clammy too - and that's pretty much my wardrobe covered. I always wear jeans, runners (w/socks) & t-shirt. In hot weather I wear shorts & sandles & t-shirt. But when shorts & sandles are too casual, what can I do? I hate crocs, and I would feel like a ponce in white linen trousers - not to mention look like a scene from Miami Vice. 3/4 length linen trousers are even worse - I'd feel like I'm on a package holiday in Spain.

So what are the alternatives? I need to look casual, but stay cool in this weather! I'm not even sure what exists - what does everyone else do?

Suggestions with photos welcome! Thanks guys!

Chinos, linen shirt, light leather shoes, perhaps loafers - there's a whole thread on mandals but regardless of temp I do NOT want to see mantoes in the office.

The Spanish/Portoguese/Italians manage this all the time - hence I point to Massimo Dutti & Zara

Linen trousers come in many colours, but cheap ones wrinkle like a *expletive* hence a light cotton trouser may serve you better

But don't wear sandals to work. Please.
