Windows 7-64 file errors.

    Hi,

    my power cut out yesterday and the improper shut-down corrupted some of my system files on Windows 7 64-bit.

    For example when I try to open wordpad i get;

    wordpad.exe - Bad Image
    C:\Windows\system32\ODBC32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
    OK

    I tried a system restore but received error 0x80070570.

    I also ran sfc /scannow in the CMD screen but that didn't work and I can't even access the logs.

    I found this site the problem though is that the software to scan and fix the file errors, doesn't appear to be compatible with 64-bit win 7.

    Does anyone know a good programme or solution that could help?

    Much appreciated.

    Apply service pack 1. If it's already applied reapply it or remove it then apply it.

    I tried to download service pack 1 through windows updates but received

    ERROR_HANDLE_EOF(0x80070026)

    I'm really stumped now, nothing is working properly.

    Edit; I'm downloading System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [May 2011]. It might help get the download for the service pack working.
