cubes are great , have cube ltd pro mtb and road bike. decent spec for good price. If you can pay a bit more for better model then do as u get into it you will want to upgrade

the fork and gears on the Ktm are a higher spec than the Cube. Both are nice bikes though.

I also have cube ltd pro , lovely bikes the both of them, not much between them really just go with what your heart tells you, or go look at them in the shop then decide.

I love my Ultra Flite but I'll be honest and give you my problems/comments:

I've had the bike 3 months and 18days and have done about 800km on it. I've had absolutely no issues with the components, frame anything really.

I do a mix of off-roading for fun and on road for training for off road. The handle bars are flats and the brake leavers will scratch the frame(quite badly) if you manage to fall and the bars spin round, though you could easily but some black tape there and it'll be fine.

The tyres, Great for commuting to and from town/college they roll brilliantly and I found I could easily keep up to racers/hybrids on them, But if you plan to off road I'd recommend some tougher tyres, Generally speaking they're OK for light trails in the dry but hit some wet mud and you'll lose grip, as well as this the sidewalls are like punctures and after a recent spin down a local thorny trail I had 3 punctures in the side of my inner tube.

Issues/repairs so far: I had an issue with the front rotor rubbing after a month or so, I'm quite an aggressive braker and I may have warped the disk this only takes seconds to sort though. I had some spear raised handle bars and decided to put them on, In doing this I stretched my rear derailleur cable and had to reset the gears, though these were both my fault :pac:

I love my bike, It's nice and light yet feels solid and the shocks are brilliant, I'd recommend it :)

I just posted from another "what MTB" thread....

I used to sell KTMs a year or two ago for a Dublin shop. I have to say they are great quality, right down to every detail. Even their very cheapest bike came with DT Swiss spokes (A classic area where manufactures will take cheaper lower cost options on low-end bikes), which was a great sign of attention to detail for the brand. I use a high end KTM as my race bike.

The main thing I would say to anyone choosing between bikes is test test test. Try them out and see if any feel better to you.

Sorry for butting in here. Been lurking around these threads as I'm looking to get an MTB as well and I have a grand to play with. Have a few questions ppl if you be kind enough to answer. I quote the post above as this bike sounds ideal for me, I just wanna good all round MTB for road and off road cycling, not doing any serious or specialised cycling on trails etc. Who stocks ktm bikes in the Dublin area? Also that canyon al 6.0 looks super sweet plus been reading lotsa good things about them. Would this bike be a good general MTB or is it very specialist? bearing in mind that I wanna bike thats great on road as well, that said I would be traversing alot of rough terrain too.

i disagree, specialized are superb bikes, best frames around, usually need to upgrade the components but thats pretty standard these days but the frames are in my opinion the best around!! but hey go with what makes you hapy :)

To be honest I wouldn't let tyres or bars influence the purchase of any bike too much, - unless it was a toss up between 2 bikes.

Whenever i get a new bike, the bars, stem and tyres usually get changed almost straight away, and its the same for a lot of people as these controls are largely a matter of personal preference.
