Portrait business

Hi I'm thinking of starting an online portrait painting business.
I could paint anything using a photograph - pet portraits, family portraits, child portraits, self-portraits etc.

Plenty of people get professional photographs taken, so I was looking to tap into that market and provide a more personal, artistic touch.

I was wondering how much somebody would expect to pay for a medium sized (A3) good quality painting of themselves or their loved one? Also, how likely would you be to buy it as a gift for somebody else?

I would really appreciate any comments. Thanks

Think about getting on Etsy.com. if not YouCraft is going live in a couple of months, that could be useful (I am developing YouCraft)
