So I want a new desktop. I toyed with the idea of a laptop but I have one in work I can bring home if needed, so I'd rather have a powerful desktop (my current one is a Dell, bought in 2002!!)

    So my requirements:
    • must have at least 4GB of RAM
    • 500GB hard drive is plenty
    • fast CPU
    • graphics card capable of most games
    • can have 2 monitors plugged in
I guess I'd need monitors too. At least 22" if possible. And HD

My budget, around the grand mark, though I'm a little flexible on that.

    Can it be done????

For €1000 you will build an absolute beast of a computer. I say build because it's advised as you will get a much better machine for less when you build rather than buy a pre-built. There is a forum here for building pc's where all the clever people will help you pick the right parts and give any advice on what you need.

I recommend making a post in the PC Building & Upgrading forum for this same thing. You won't regret it ;)
