Thinking about having our reception in Fallons in Kilcullen. Has anyone any advice/feedback on this restuarant as a venue. Am a tad concerned about a couple of things: if we have a larger number the guests will be split between 2 rooms...how do you do speeches?? Also what would it be like to have a lively band play in this venue?? is it too small for a wedding of say 120?? Love to hear from anyone who has been here thanks a mil

I can't give an indepth review of the venue but I did cover a wedding there last year and it is a lovely place. The couple were over the moon with it, they held a drinks reception in a nearby hotel and went on to the restaurant for dinner afterwards. The room to the back was laid out for the guests, all guests fit in the back room and prior to dinner they sat in the smaller room at the back.

Fallons is lovely and the room is decorated very nicely. It also has the little reception type room outside the main function room where you could have a drinks reception or somewhere for people to go after the meal. My only problem with the place is is that there is no hotel in walking distance, people would need to get taxis to another hotel.

We had a wedding receiption there for c. 45 people, plus 30 for the afters and it was fine. Any more than that would be pushing it I would say. We used one of the rooms at the back for the meal & dancing, the other for a drinks reception and somewhere for people to go to get away from the music if they wished.
