    Hi,

Anyone know the route for ballinrobe 5k (Tuesday 28th) or where it starts?

Is it a hard or hilly route?

    Thanks.

I didn't even see this thread yesterday. Did either of you do the race?
It has to be the flattest 5k race in the country! Great turnout too.

did'nt do it but heard fro a girl that did it and said was a really nice course so i read from that that it was flat

Did this, lovely evening, nice flat course. I was about 20 seconds slower than the Westport 5k on sunday. A few of my friends were also slower. The last 2 or 3 k were on a long straight and found it hard to maintain a steady pace. Can a course be too flat? Not criticising the organisers in any way, very well run and marshalled.

I did it too. My first ever run. I think I did it in a time of 24 / 25 minutes...
It been so flat, mean that it is one of the easier ones?

I was very impressed... I don;t think they got my time at the end... A bunch came in together... We will see when the e-mail comes out with the results.

    Great job. Enjoyed it..

    Faster than me DriverMad :)
Flat was good but a bit of downhill would have made it better :D I found that last straight tough too but I assumed that's because I'm a rubbish runner more than anything else :pac:
Great crowd...I'd say double last years numbers at least.

    Claremorris next week?

Yes, Claremorris next week. I wonder what that course is like?

by the way nobody is a rubbish runner. You run for yourself and set goals from that. I have been doing a bit of running for over a year, but only picked up the courage to enter...

Best of luck next week :-)

If I've got it right then the guts of the first two miles are grand and then there's an uphill drag for maybe up to half a mile, then back downhill, a bit of a bumpy run back up the lane and finish with a lap of the track.

    (approx distances).

+1 to that. I did it with a group of about 8 who have been training together since winter. Times ranged from 18.30 to about 28. we all enjoyed it as far as i can tell. Dissapointed I'll be missing the race and barbeque next week.

Littlebug, thanks for the info on Claremorris. I will save some energy for the second part.
