The latest from Brim Bros - LINK.

Pretty tidy looking (smaller than I though it would end up) - will be interesting to see how well received it is and how it stacks up against the impending Garmin Vector PM.

It looks like ass. It's not going to work with a whole range of shoes and it can only ever work with speedplays.

"We’re working on versions for different makes of pedal and cleat, but we’re not certain yet which ones we will launch first."

...but I don't think any of the detail matters until I can actually buy one. Until then they have nothing.

I don't understand it. Why does it need specific pedals to work? And also how does it work exactly? Does it convert down force to watts? And does it calculate the whole motion? If not how accurate would they be?

    Just a few questions :p

Force sensors in cleat, wired to the "base" on top of your shoe. Both of these stay on your shoe. The "pod" (removable for charging) clicks into the "base", a bit like your Garmin connects to its mount.

I don't understand how the two sensors work - maybe one slaves off the other to give a single data stream to the head unit.

From what I can tell it doesn't need specific pedals as such, it needs an adapted cleat.

Not sure I really want sensors in something as fragile as a cleat, but all systems have their downsides.

Looks like the guys over at Brim Brothers are one step closer to a saleable product.

Looks like they named it 'Zone'

Looks ok, and weighs in at only 36g for the two sensors and transmittors, will measure power and cadence and transmit via ANT+

I'd say v2 of this will be even better, will be very intereseted to see how this prototype tests.

:D v1 still isn't out and has been in development for years now.

They'll definitely need some sort of crash replacement policy.
I can see the wire taking quite a bit of abuse located on the outside of the shoe, probably better to have it on the inside.

The foot pod section will get smaller over time and when it does, as long as the numbers are reliable, I reckon they'll do ok.

I remember reading before that they said replacement cleats would be cheap, that the more expensive electronics was in the bit on top of the shoe.
