Brussels - Maastricht and back...

    Hi all,

I will be travelling from the main Brussels Airport to Maastricht on the weekend of July 8th. Have been doing lots of digging but I nearly have more questions having done research than I did before.

On the day I arrive I will head straight to Maastricht from the airport. I know there is a train that does direct and that has two changes along the way. Has anyone any experience of this train? It's annoying I'll have to change trains so I'm hoping it's not too messy. Also, I went online to the national Belgium railway site to see about purchasing tickets but I literally don't know where to click to proceed with payment - any insider info would be much appreciated!

On the monday I then head back from Maastricht to Brussels and have about 10 hours to kill there. Other than interesting, not time consuming things to do (think I'll keep it simple - the Grand Place, and the old old shopping galleries our on my list), I'm wondering about the ease of travelling from Brussels Airport to Centraal and back. Ideally, I'd rather leave my luggage at the airport but are there lockers there? I know the train station has lockers but I'd really rather leave them at the airport for safety reasons.

If anyone is familiar with either city especially Brussels and has tips on sightseeing and mainly ease of getting around and where to leave luggage etc, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!
