PC stopped recognising TV

Okay, so I'm not sure if this should be here or in the graphics forum, so mods feel free to move.

I'm currently running a nVidia GTX 280 on my PC. Since it doesn't have a HDMI port, I've been using a DVI - HDMI adaptor to hook my PC up to the Philips TV I have. For the last while, it's been going great. And suddenly, the other day, the PC stopped recognising the TV. Completely. I've tried updating the drivers for nVidia, replacing both the HDMI cable and adaptor. The PC recognises a second monitor I have, but the TV, not a single thing.

Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong and how I can fix it?
