Has there been any new development in your area?
Like one off houses close by which will be using the water?

Pull the pipes up and see if the foot valve blocked, you will also see if the pipes are wet, then you will know.

Don't bother, just get a black cat and swing it anti-clockwise above your head while reciting the magna carta. This will give you the same results. Either:1. Plumbings adulterated-check pipes and foot valves, pump. 2.Wells too shallow, acquire friendly well drilling type person and go down another few hundred feet.

To look for a guarantee from a well driller is like asking for a warranty from a fortune teller - both have feck all idea about whats really going to happen. Well drillers drill holes in the ground. In as far as that goes they are usually very good, you pay x, they go down y meters. If the result is not Q litres of water, its got feck all to do with the driller, he can only drill where you point and will only drill as deep as your pocket. Deepen both, your well and how far your hand goes into your pocket. That or buy a lot of Evian.

    Forget your diviner.

Get the fitter to check it all over.

But if the water isn't there anymore then not much that can be done apart from getting some sort of survey

The only way out is down.:) Blasting can help, but if the water is lying at a deep level where you are, you just have to drill till you hit it. Its very hit and miss, I sunk 2 wells, 50m apart, both VERY deep. One is a bimmer, ones crap. Twigs wont cut it, but deep holes ftw.
