Half time and it's 6 points to four in favour in Tyrone.

Tyrone were 6-1 up at one stage but Donegal came back well. Donegal have the wind in the second half aswell.

Good goal for Donegal. Woeful game though not helped by an even more woeful referee!

Tyrone with another wide, thats 9 compared to Donegals 3

Another terrible performance from a referee.

15 scores in 69 mins of football is shocking stuff but fair play to Donegal. There tactics are working and it is a results business.

Some neck on yerman to go for the goal, fair play to him for getting it, would have been in trouble if it was saved :)

Well done Donegal. One of the worst performances by a referee all year,he was very poor for both sides. FT Donegal 2-6 Tyrone 0-9.

Saw the end of that game and it's fair to say that ref has overshadowed everything bad done by the ref in Clones!

I must say that this game was incredibly hard to watch. Not often a measly score of 2-6 will win a game. A team with guys that can kick distance points would have a field day against this blanket defence. Still it has worked so far in fairness and it's good to see a new winner in Ulster.

Tyrone refused to send someone out for a Sunday Game interview after the game apparantly. While acknowledging all that Mickey Harte has undergone over the last few years, he's really losing a lot of support on this one.

That's the problem with it, Tyrone were doing that for the first 20/25 minutes but only scored 0-3 in about 50 minutes of football. Donegal did great to be just 2 points down at half time. Ref gave some very puzzling decisions, bit fussy on over carrying twice near the end.

A new low for Donegal.Absolutely clueless.Tyrone should have been miles out of sight after 20 mins.
Donegal seem to think that blanket defence means everyone stands 30 yards from their own goal and nobody marks anybody.Tyrone boys were just waltzing past them for most of the game.
Even with 14 men they looked to have extra men everywhere.
And somebody buy Michael Murphy a pair of football boots so he can stay on his feet.
IN the words of comic book guy WORST GAME EVER

Agree 100 per cent re Murphy's boots, you would think that after the first few slips that the penny should have dropped.. although credit to his tenacity to disposess the tryone backs of the ball that set the brick up for a goal. Tyrone wides cost them, esp Peter Hartes kicking from frees, i cannot understand why steven o'neill did not try them from the hand.

Any victory against tyrone should be savoured!

Is he another one of mickeys nephews?
the conspiracy theories will be doin the rounds in tyrone.
some of his frees were awful-especially last.
always happy to beat tyrone but still very disappointing performance

Yea, he is a nephew of Mickeys, actually a good player, just his place kicking kicking was poor today. Of course the wolves will be rounding in tyrone now but I actually was nervous about this game today because of the Mickey Harte factor. No better man at setting up teams and their start today showed that.

I alway felt that mark mc hugh plays too deep but he covered some ground today. He had a fantastic game along with Anthony Thompson and Frank Mc Glynn. If Neil Mc Gee played with either Cork or Dublin he'd be touted already for an all star already. An fair play to the Brick, showed some laithroidí to go for goal when a punched point might have been enough.

It was always going to be a struggle, lost a lot of breaking balls and quick ball into the corners. Seems McGuinness is happy enough to lose midfield and just rely on the blanket defence. Derry have the forwards to punish us for that.

McHugh covered some serious ground, playing a Dooher role, McBrearty was marked out of it and that was always going to happen.

On a more positive note, far better second half performance and we were more aware in the second half defensively, players more willing to anticipate runs from Tyrone and cut them out, Lacey in particular, it's very difficult to man mark Tyrone.

it would be remiss not to mention Mc Loone? V lucky boy that the ref deemed his challange a yellow card. Wise move by Mc Guinness to take off quick smart thereafter

mark mc hugh might cover alot of ground but hes not much use on the ball.
lost count of times he was knocked over sideline today

He's light but he gives you options and you need that in a blanket defence. He's no Dooher, who is?, but he gives you that outlet. I don't think we've anybody else good enough to play that role.

Blanket defence only gets you so far as Armagh showed, with limited players it will get results but will be found out, Westmeath a good example in recent times. Personally I think we've too many good forwards to be totally reliant on it.

Peter Harte scored 2 points v Monaghan from greater distances than yesterday in a monsoon. After all the plans, tactics etc. It can all depend on one of your players having an off day with the boot. Look at the Tyrone v Dublin game last year, Sean Cavanagh kicked 5 wides in a row, any 2 go over and they probably win.

The ifs, buts and maybes will all be discussed this week, particulary by Tyrone GAA Folk but for once its nice to be on the side of lady luck for a change. We won and we got out of Jail in doing it. For the ultser final i would've preferred to meet armagh, god knows we owe them a good ulster final after the recent drubbings we received off them in Croke park and crossmaglen last year

Although Tyrone will feel they should have won that game, there was clear evidence that this Tyrone side is coming to an end. That was epitomised for me in the performance of Dooher, who was but a pale shadow of his former greatness. Indeed players like SON, Cavanagh and Ricey all looked to have miles on the clock.

I'm afraid it also calls into question some of the selection decisions of Mickey Harte - without doubt one of the great managers of the modern era. Tyrone are bound to have potential riches from all their underage success of the last decade and it appears from the outside that MH may have been too loyal. Maybe Tyrone will come back as they did in 2008, but I can't see it.

Even though I am from Armagh, I have to say that it is refreshing to see that their will be a new pairing in the Ulster Final - but I can't help feeling that the standard in the Province has deteriorated rapidly.
