Laptop screen gone blank

Hi, I was using my laptop last nite and all of a sudden the screen just went blank but the machine stayed running. I've tried restarting it several times and the same thing happens, then machine starts up but nothing comes up on the screen. The back light of the screen is on but it is just black. Does anyone know what this…

Could be your graphics card im afraid. Is there any picture at all?

What model?
Try removing power cord and battery.
Then press power button 60 secs to clear the charge in the machine.
Put battery back and reconnect power cord.
Start it up again.

You might have to bring it in to a shop.
