    Hello,

I was trying to download a 800mb zip from Megaupload. The wireless constantly drops out when I try and download this.

I then tried to download a 600mb zip from Megaupload and it was fine.

The only time I have a problem is when I try and download that 800 mb thing.

    I am confused!

My laptop has an Intel 5100 AGN and the router is an old Netgear.

I will try from a different computer once one gets into the house.
It just seems odd that it will download 600mb with no problem but packs up when 30mb into 800.

    Thanks

If it's the wireless dropping then your just unlucky.

Try connecting with a LAN cable and see does it work.

Maybe the 800 file is corrupted and it just looks like it drops?

It is more a case that the laptop loses connection with the network. I should have made that much clearer.
im not sure if i could lose connection to the router by a corrupted file.

Aye, so far it seems there is something either with the file or the time it takes to download it.
Can you try another big file 800+ ?

try using jDownloader and seeing if it continues the download after it dropouts. you can resume downloads from Megaupload

it could be a corrupted upload, see if you can find a mirror for it or download a file of similar size. what are you using to download it?

Sadly I dont have access to files that big too often.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=67907352

The second megaupload link is the big 800mb one and once again my laptop loses contact with the router 10.8 mb in. It usually happens about 30 secs to a couple of mins into the download.

Will try the Jdownloader thing now!

    Jdownloader worked fine!

    An odd one indeed!
