Quick question, I have Sky+ on one tv and standard sky in another room but I have cancelled the multiroom but I was wondering if I swapped the viewing cards could I get Sky Sports in the room wth the standard sky box?

Unfortunately not. If you use your active card in the second box you won't get the premium channels.:(

By premium channels do you mean the movie and sports channels or anything that's not free to air ?

Additionally I've just upgraded from a Sky + box to a Sky hd, we kept the original card and its been paired to the new box. Would I still be able to view content on the old Sky + box hard drive ?

Premium channels mean stuff like Sky Sports and Sky Movies. Maybe even ESPN? Plus, it seems that Sky+ recording doesn't work if card and STB isn't paired (pretty sure it used to work before).

Basic channels like Sky One, etc will work fine in a different box.

only if you got multiroom when you upgraded.
