I've lost my Mojo

Recently I lost a calculator that I had for 18 years - a simple calculator, large buttons, 12 digit display - no special functions - it was black with gray buttons, it was flat & at one time had a little stand to tilt it up. It was battery & solar but never had to change the battery, it worked in low light so I could check numbers during presentations when they turned down the lights. I had it almost from my first job.

Thing is I haven't found another that I'm happy with I've gone through 8 new ones in the past month - normally I love new gadgets - but I miss my old calculator - amazing how we only notice things when they have gone I don't know what make or model it was, it was just always there when i need it.

I know its was just a calculator but after Excel a calaculator is a very special & personal thing to an accountant!!! :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

..... Where ever you are I hope your safe my trusty calc sorry I left you behind.....

18 yr old Calculator ! . It's probably time you got a new one OP. Believe it or not today's calculators can do more than +,-,*,/. 'Scientific Calculators' can can square root any number, seriously I'm not joking, technology these days.

Ah who the hell needs to square root anything, if you need any of that fancy stuff you'll be using excel anyway!

OP I for one feel your pain; I temporarily lost my trusty calculator, which I've had for about 4 years, for about a week. Thankfully I found it in the pocket of my laptop bag on Thursday to much rejoicing! It was like being without my right arm all week (having to use this horrible yoke that's standard issue to all staff in my job - I mean just look where the equals button is for god's sake! http://www.ciao.co.uk/Impega_3_343_391_Office_DESK__6845479).

I can easily get another one anyway, as its a popular current model...(http://www.officethings.ie/storefront/Casio-Desktop-Calculator-8-digit-MS-80ER-S-UH-P-14590%201), but you'll just have to go through the grieving process, and when you're ready, move on with your life and find a calculator to see you through the next 18 years - It won't be easy, but time is a great healer... :)
