    hi..
    Heading off to France soon.. last time I used the mobile broadband there I could only get a 2G network and it cost a fortune to use..
    has anyone gotten the 3G to work at no additional cost as advertised on the three website..

    I can now answer this myself..:mad:

    Best price is €4 per Mb downloaded
    Orange network would cost €7 per Mb..

    Shockingly expensive..:eek:

    Just unlock it and get a local sim.

    can't you get intl sims here?

    but id imagine pop into a french phone shop, and get a sim with 20 quid credit that has a data plan and thats that

    to unlock the hardware, a little software update needs to be done, never done it myself but im sure someone will post a link or explain it, its not too hard

    To unlock it, just google it. I did and it was easy enough to find out.

    Re the sim, I do not know the prices in France, but wikipedia lists the carriers per country, so you will need to do 10 minutes of research to make sure you know what you are buying.
