    Assuming it is dive-related -

When did you first experience the pain/discomfort - on the descent or on the ascent?

There may be a slight perforation in yor eardrum, based on the spot of blood.

If so, an infection often follows.

If, since the weekend, you tried to clear your ears and heard a little pssszzzzz as in air escaping through the affected ear, then that would prove there was a tear.

It would not be wise to try clearing now. Let it heal. A few weeks and you'll be fine.

The cause of it would have been equalising a bit too late, or too forcefully. It can easily happen, but is only a temporary inconvenience where a diving career is concerned.

    Best of luck,

davee as seaduce said above but get the eustachian tubes checked some peoples are narrower and therefore find it harder to equalise. there are tubular exercises you can perform if this is the case. Just dont ever ride your eardrums if you have a problem ascend to where its not a problem or abort the dive. The water will still be there tomorrow.
