Those films are made by Americans for a mostly American audience, using US dollars as a currency makes it easier for the viewer to relate to the sums of money involved and to appreciate the gravitas of the situation.

well, they would have asked for it in bitcoin, but nobody really knows what the hell that is about,

unmarked bills, i presume, is like a blank cheque, you just write in whatever amount you want in the top corner???

Because the euro's value is pretty unreliable?

Unmarked bills are notes that can't be traced. They haven't been tagged or marked with anything. They can of course just note the serial numbers which is why they often ask for "non-sequential unmarked bills".

Newly minted notes with all the serial numbers in sequence are easy to follow for investigators. With old, worn random serial number notes are easier for the felons to spend etc, thus unmarked notes.

The dollar has one of the highest calorific values of all currencies and can keep a warehouse warm for several days at a time.

Terrorists love its warm inviting glow.

Because the twist always turns out to be that the Americans were the terrorists all along.

We used to joke in Lebanon that the first words of english the natives learned was "gimme dollar, gimme dollar".

After that they pretty much wanted to kill every American on earth.

For the same reason that it's somehow always America that saves the day....."Independence Day", "Armageddon", etc.

Basically films are made for American audiences and we're only getting their leftovers.....but for some reason we swallow them hole instead of telling them to piss off and make films that represent the whole world.

That said, they do make the odd gem that shows that America does more damage than good, even if it is a spoof like "Team America"

Yeah, right. Team America is totally pro-American. There are plenty of American movies which are hostile to Iraq and Vietnam.

As for Independence Day Americans will of course save the world in a script written and paid for by Americans, just as the British ( and a Time Lord with a british accent) will save the world in a script paid for by the BBC.

Sometimes they don't do plot by numbers.

James Bond: Yes, well, I've worked out a few statistics of my own. 15 billion dollars in gold bullion weighs 10,500 tons. Sixty men would take twelve days to load it onto 200 trucks. Now, at the most, you're going to have two hours before the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines move in and make you put it back.
Auric Goldfinger: Who mentioned anything about removing it?
    [Bond is stunned into silence]
Auric Goldfinger: The julep tart* enough for you?
James Bond: You plan to break into the world's largest bank, but not to steal anything. Why?
Auric Goldfinger: Go on, Mr. Bond.
James Bond: [thinking] Mr. Ling, the Red Chinese at the factory, he's a specialist in nuclear fission... but of course! His government's given you a bomb.
Auric Goldfinger: I prefer to call it an "atomic device." It's small, but particularly dirty.
    James Bond: Cobalt and iodine?
    Auric Goldfinger: Precisely.
James Bond: Well, if you explode it in Fort Knox, the... the entire gold supply of the United States would be radioactive for... fifty-seven years.
Auric Goldfinger: Fifty-eight, to be exact.
James Bond: I apologize, Goldfinger. It's an inspired deal! They get what they want, economic chaos in the West. And the value of your gold increases many times.
Auric Goldfinger: I conservatively estimate, ten times.
    James Bond: Brilliant.

*is he referring to Pussy Galroe ?

[note - the gold would be radioactive until 2022 , make sure you sell gold before it comes back on the market]
