As an FYI - Easons sell 1tb external drives for the sum of 79€, if you'd prefer to purchase one in a store as opposed to online. They're Seagate drives, I've bought four over the past few years and I've had no issues. :)

i just bought a segate goflex...see here..its currently half price occording to the website but whether that's true of just marketing is another story.. tho i like the ability to change the interface...for example i got an eSATA interface with mine to speed up transfers and you can also get USB 3.0 if you get a pc/laptop compatible wirth it...it's prob not the cheapect but it's certianly flexable
