My cousin had his car stolen 2 months ago and it has never surfaced.
It was reported stolen to the gardai.
So the question is what do you do with the logbook for the car?
Do u keep it or return to the motor tax office, if so what other docs have to go with it.

    Thanks

Was it reported stolen to the insurance company. If it was the car would of been paid out to after two weeks missing

If the insurance pay out, the car is their property.

It was an old banger so he didn't claim on his insurance. He's in his 20's and it wouldn't have been worth it.

Where did he say that they did?

I'd just post it back to Shannon or keep it

I would imagine you will need to inform the Motor section of the Department of the Transport in Shannon of this otherwise if the car was used in criminal activity or issued speeding tickets, etc your brother would have alot of grief with the authorities.

What will they do in all fairness? Without a destruction certificate they will not de-register the car.
