Car parts shipped from USA

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but can't think where else to put it.

I need parts far my car but can only source them in the USA. Unfortunately none of the stockists ship outside of the USA.

Is there any other way to get the parts from there to Ireland ? Perhaps a shipping company who can collect and deliver them to Ireland ? Probably a silly question but I've never needed to do this before so am completely ignorant of the procedure.

    Thanks

    Ken

Thank me for having an extensive collection of bookmarks! :D No experience of using them, though....

I would say they are not the only business offering that service, so you may find a better / cheaper one.

Have you tried contacting the company in question one on one and asking them? Alot of US part suppliers had no international shipping listed on their website but did actually ship when i made further inquiries.

Alternatively track down a long lost relative/friend or friend of a friend living over and get it shipped to them.

The first option will lead to you getting stung for VAT the second option should help you avoid this with a bit of creative re packaging. :)

What sort of parts are we talking? Would it something that could be got off ebay?

Just saying because i've a sun visor on the way from colorado i just bought on there. & you can see pretty quick when looking at the product page if they do international delivery.

Thanks for the link and the advice lads. I contacted the companies and they said they can't ship to Ireland and couldn't help. The parts are rear upper balljoints for a '90 Prelude. No problem getting the others for the car in the local motor factors but the rear ones are like hens teeth !!

I did manage to get one company who would ship to a hotel where my gf stays regularly so she's going to order the parts which shouldn't weigh more than 0.5Kg. So all good !!

I didn't think they would ship to an address not associated with the credit card but seems the only criteria is that it must be a US card which she has so all good !! I'll only need to pay the local taxes too !

    Thanks again !!
